Film Title: Borrowed Tomorrow
Team Phoenix films was pulled together by Ben Phoenix, a producer/director based in Carlisle. The team was assigned “Sci-Fi” and “Heist” as their genres and chose to combine both in their film.

“Having experienced the Edinburgh 48 Hour Film Project early in my career, I knew exactly how valuable it is for growth. So, when director Chris Hill and I connected online about making indie British features, we knew this challenge was the perfect way to forge a new team.
We threw ourselves into the deep end, assembling a 20-strong cast and crew, taking over an abandoned 90s nightclub in Carlisle, and pulling off an amazing Sci-Fi/Heist short. It was a pretty challenging, but rewarding weekend. We are already looking ahead at developing some feature film ideas.”

Wanting a new way forward, I began reaching out to other independent filmmakers with the idea that, instead of struggling alone, we could build something great together through collaboration. Pulling all our resources into one combined team to create great British films.
The 48 Hour Film Project was the perfect chance to test that vision under pressure, creating a fully completed short film in under 48 hours. I’m incredibly proud of what the team achieved, and excited to continue growing this collaboration with the goal of creating great British feature films together.”
