The 14th edition of the Venice Production Bridge continues to solidify its position as a premier film industry hub, attracting over 3,300 professionals from around the globe
The Venice Production Bridge (VPB), running alongside the 82nd Venice International Film Festival from August 28th to September 5th, 2025, has delivered impressive growth figures that underscore the event’s increasing importance in the global film industry landscape. With support from the European Commission’s Creative Europe and MEDIA programme, this specialized hub for film professionals has become an essential destination for advancing and finalizing projects.
The 2025 edition welcomed 3,385 industry delegates, representing an 8% increase from 2024’s 3,135 attendees. This growth reflects the event’s expanding influence and the industry’s growing recognition of Venice as a crucial marketplace for film financing and development.

Venice Gap-Financing Market Celebrates 12th Edition
The Venice Gap-Financing Market, now in its 12th year, demonstrated robust participation with 331 projects submitted for pre-selection (compared to 320 in 2024). These projects were directed by 357 filmmakers, maintaining strong gender representation with 146 female directors, 2 non-binary directors, and 209 male directors.
From these submissions, 54 projects were selected across Fiction, Documentary, and Immersive categories, with 40 Fiction and Documentary projects and 14 Immersive projects making the cut. The selected projects included 19 by female directors and 37 by male directors.
The market facilitated 1,451 one-to-one meetings across three days, marking a 6% increase from 2024’s 1,370 meetings. Additional projects from Biennale College Immersive (10 projects) and Biennale College Cinema (3 fiction projects) were also presented, including those selected for VPB Focuses on the United Kingdom, Chile, and Morocco.
Book Adaptation Rights Market Marks 10th Anniversary
The Book Adaptation Rights Market celebrated its milestone 10th edition with participation from 34 publishing houses and literary agencies (33 in 2024). This specialized market organized more than 650 one-to-one meetings between publishers and producers, facilitating the crucial process of adapting literary works for screen.

Final Cut in Venice Supports Post-Production Projects
The 13th edition of Final Cut in Venice (August 31 – September 2) continued its mission to support films in post-production from Africa and Arab countries, including Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria. From 75 submitted projects directed by 81 filmmakers, 8 projects were selected for presentation and support.
Award Winners and Industry Support
The prestigious La Biennale di Venezia Prize (€5,000) for Best Film in post-production was awarded to “The Station (Al Mahattah)” by Sara Ishaq (Yemen, Jordan, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Qatar). The jury praised the film for its “authentic gender empowerment” and its challenge to “typical Western gaze toward regions often reduced to simplistic narratives.”
Multiple industry supporters provided substantial backing to selected projects, including:
- Laser Film offering €15,000 for color correction services
- Studio A Fabrica providing €15,000 for sound mixing
- Titra Film contributing up to €10,000 for various post-production services
- Rai Cinema offering €5,000 with first negotiation rights

Streaming Platforms and Industry Events
The Meet the Streamers initiative featured 7 European and international streaming platforms conducting 116 one-to-one meetings with distributors and rights holders, though this represented a decrease from 2024’s 236 meetings.
The event’s educational component expanded significantly, with 73 panels and events held (compared to 63 in 2024), representing a 16% increase. These were split between 58 events on Venice Lido and 15 on the Venice Immersive Island.
Market Screenings and Industry Consultancy
The VPB organized 45 market screenings (up from 41 in 2024), including:
- 17 screenings of films selected for Venezia 82
- 8 Final Cut in Venice screenings
- 14 screenings of films not in the Official Selection
- Various other category screenings
Industry veteran Katriel Schory continued his third year of providing individual consultancy meetings, arranging almost 40 meetings with producers and directors between August 30 and September 1.
Industry Heavyweights in Attendance
The 2025 edition attracted an impressive roster of industry decision-makers from major companies including A24, Amazon MGM Studios, Apple, Netflix, HBO Max, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Warner Bros. Entertainment, StudioCanal, Universal Pictures International, and many others.
Representatives from prestigious festivals and institutions were also present, including Cannes Film Festival, Berlinale, Toronto International Film Festival, Locarno Film Festival, European Film Academy, and numerous film funds and commissions worldwide.
