Film Title: The Mechanics Of Love.
“Digital Daydreams,” is a team with very mixed backgrounds who share a passion for filmmaking.
This was our second year entering the project. Our overall experience was so rewarding as most of our team doesn’t get to make films regularly, so having the chance to do it in 48 hours was just incredible. The weekend was full of fun and laughter, and we can see ourselves becoming regulars for entering the project.
Our film is about a newly built robot who learns about the joys of life and love. One of the biggest difficulties was creating the robot’s costume, our producer stayed up until 4 in the morning to ensure it was ready for filming. We definitely didn’t have enough time to make a costume for a realistic looking robot, so we leaned into the cardboard and tape look in hopes of giving the character some charm to fit with our given genre: “Romantic Comedy”.
We almost had to replan a lot of the script and shots due to weather. We were heavily reliant on it not raining due to the costume’s structure and the nature of the genre. Luckily we managed to miss any major rainfall but it was touch and go at some points.
We submitted close to the deadline, with 20 minutes to spare so we fully utilized the time we were given.
